Evolution Lighting by Mode

Evolution is a revolutionary control system for both lighting and systems integration, offering unparalleled levels of configurability and scalability. Breaking away from the limitations of conventional lighting control methods, such as zoning and fixed button-to-scene operation, Evolution opens up a world of possibilities, offering significant benefits for designers, architects, specifiers, installers and end users.

Feature-rich Power and Processor packs interface to all popular lighting interfaces including DSI, 0-10v and DMX. Each pack also includes an RS232 interface for interfacing with AV systems, and a real-time clock for scheduled events or seasonal variation. Automatic astronomical calculation is built-in to enable lighting changes to be linked to local sunrise/sunset times. Extra RS232 or Infra-Red (IR) modules can be added with ease.

An Evolution system consists of one or more Power and Processor Packs, stylish control plates with 2, 5 or 10 buttons, LCD plates with 10 buttons and a number of useful accessories such as relay packs for blind or projector-screen control.

Scenes can be created containing any number of lighting circuits from one lamp to a whole skyscraper. Scenes may also contain RS232 or IR commands to operate AV systems, change the colour or legend of a control plate, or operate relay contacts to open and close blinds. Any input to the system, which may be a button on a control plate, an Infra-red remote control, or even the built-in astronomical clock may trigger any output scene.

LCD Plates

Evolution control panels are supplied with stylish MK Aspect screwless fascia plates. Several finishes are available from stock including Brushed Stainless Steel, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome and White. In addition a bespoke service enables the Evolution control panels to be fitted to most standard plates to match other accessories within a project.

Evolution can be programmed for simple control and adjustments using the LCD panel.. Evolution scenes may be recalled using either the twin gang size LCD plate or single gang size switchplates. All LCD screens and button LEDs can be programmed independently to be one of thirty-two colours, complementing either the plate finish, interior decor or to show alternative button functions.

Power Units

The Evolution Power and Processor Pack provides both the brain and the brawn of the Evolution System. Built on the rugged and long-established dimming technology from Mode, combined with state-of-the-art processing technology the Power and Processor Packs are the centre of the system.

Evolution does not rely on a “master pack” for operation, instead an intelligent network of packs all store the whole system configuration so that in the event of power failure or damage to one part of the network the rest of the building will continue to operate.

Evolution Power and Processor Packs include innovative technology such as S.P.O.I. (Self-Program-On-Install), meaning that installation times are reduced and maintenance is greatly simplified.
